What Happens After the "Happily Ever After"...
Time comes and goes for everybody. This is a rule of the world. And Integra had always had this in mind. After things seemed to quiet down Integra had finally found the time to think about the fact that, differently from Alucard, she too was aging - at that exact moment in fact - and soon she would begin to see and feel it. But the worse was the idea of death. Not that Sir. Integra feared death. She feared what her death would do to the Hellsing. She was in fact the last one left. Would there be no hope for the Hellsing? Would it's leader's death be it's death too?
Integra would obviously never let such a thing happen. There was one thing left to do. And Integra did. After long days thinking about that decision, debating with herself - for it was something only she should debate one, nor Alucard nor Walter needed to have nothing to do with this decision - and coming to a decision. And one day she appeared with a little girl, declaring to Alucard and Walter - and whoever heard - that she was called Madeleine Windgate Hellsing, and was the future heir of the Hellsing.
Integra had adopted a child. A little girl who was barely 5 years old, her big black eyes looked with curiosity the whole place. They say kids are "extra sensorial", so this one was either "non extra sensorial" or pretty brave as she didn't show any sign of any changes on her mood once she laid eyes on the No Life King himself. She was a sweet little thing, her skin so clear and her hair so black. A sweet girl with no know past, but what mattered was her soon to come future. Would she have gone with Integra if she could understand what the future probably held for her?
But it was not important. For now at least, since everything seemed in peace. And in times of peace, "Heroes of War" become "Mass Murderers", and so Alucard lost his need and became, once more, "too dangerous". His time witnessing Integra's maternal experiences and the growth of the future Hellsing leader had been cut short. He was going back to the underground, back to sleep. Not before a last message from his master.'As Intrega held the small knife dirtied with the blood of the little hand it had cut, Madeleine's blood, in front of the old vampire that was on his knees in front of her. He knew what the gesture was for. As he lifted his head and began licking the knife, he could hear Integra's words.
"Remember this Alucard. Remember her well. For she will, one day, become your new master."'
After this, Alucard could feel the change in the atmosphere. He knew it was just a matter of time until he was sent back to oblivion again. And, as time went by, peace seemed to be certain, and the vampire Alucard was sent back to his dreamless sleep. At this, the sweet Madeleine was just 7, not old enough to form real lasting memories of the vampire.
At that young age, Madeleine began being trained. Leraning and mastering a long list of different fighting styles during her long years of training. As the girl grew up she became more and more used to the supernatural world around her, and at the age of 15 she began working for the Hellsing. The girl earned respect trough her ability and strengh. At the age of 18 she was already being trusted and respect on the organization. It was one year later that this respect would become important. When Madeleine was at the age of 19 her mother, Sir Integra Hellsing, died.
This death left the young Madeleine in control of the whole Hellsing organization, she was now Sir Madeleine Hellsing. Followed by her Butler - who was once a man who had tried to kill her, but had to knee before her confidence - and the "Genius of the Hellsing" - a lab rat that became a extremely important member of the organization - she began leading the whole of the organization. As leader of the Hellsing, she still showed respect for her mother's wishes, one showed this respect in special. She had all curiosity int he world about the being hidden on the non used parts of the HQ, but her mother had been serius in her worlds before giving her the instructions as how to wake him up:"Madeleine, you must not wake him, unless your life and the whole of the Hellsing is in danger. Alucard must only be brough back if a bloody shadow put everything in danger once again."
Fate showed no mercy for the girl, throwing all sorts of suffering and difficult moments at her but she never gave up, even when she wanted to, she had a promise to her mother: the Hellsing must live on.
Now, the wind is changing again. A bad sign. Something is coming, and you can feel it if you try. The destiny of the world might be on the hands of the Hellsing once again. And maybe - pray the world for it not to be true - just maybe, the time has come for the No Life King to appear once more.
